Small jobs pile up at home: a wardrobe door that no longer closes straight, a shelf still waiting to go on the wall, a curtain rail, a drawer that sticks, a loose handle, a picture that should have been hung months ago.

Put them all on one list and send it to me with photos. I tell you what fits into two hours and bring what I need. I come on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday afternoon or at the weekend, and work down the list until the time is up.

You can also send a list for your parents. You book and pay by bank transfer; I go to them.

I charge by the hour. If there are several of these, I do them in one visit, which costs you less than several separate call-outs.

Small plastic parts that break and are no longer sold can often be printed on my 3D printer.

I assemble flat-pack furniture wherever you bought it. PAX wardrobes, beds, chests of drawers, desks, children’s and garden furniture.

If getting it home is the problem, I can pick the order up at the store and bring it over. Put the store and the order number in the form and I will tell you the price.

Every tall or top-heavy piece gets anchored to the wall. That is part of the job, not an extra. If you would rather I did not, I note it on the invoice.

When I am done I vacuum, check every door and drawer, and leave the spare parts in a labelled bag.

On Saturdays and Sundays I help you move. At the old place I take the furniture apart and put the screws in labelled bags. I help carry, and I drive boxes and smaller pieces over in my own car.

At the new place I assemble everything, anchor tall pieces to the wall, and hang shelves, mirrors and curtain rails.

For big pieces such as wardrobes, beds and sofas, you hire a van or a removal firm. I don’t carry heavy pieces on my own: one more person has to help — you, a friend or the movers.

I don’t haul away old furniture.

Wi-Fi that drops out in the bedroom, a slow connection upstairs, a router the installer put in and nobody ever configured. I measure the network, move the kit and add an access point where one is needed.

I install and set up devices that plug into a socket or run on batteries: smart plugs, Zigbee sensors, radiator thermostat heads, video doorbells.

If you already run Home Assistant, I add the devices to your system and show you how to use them. If you do not have it yet, I can set it up for you.

I work with devices that plug into a socket and with low voltage: LED strips on a driver, table and floor lamps, extension leads and cable trunking, battery sensors.

I prepare a light fitting — measure, drill, fix the bracket and hold it in place. A licensed electrician makes the connection.

I do not do fixed wiring: no sockets, switches or hard-wired fittings. That needs a trade licence, and I am happy to point you to someone who holds one.

Before you buy a wardrobe, I draw the layout and check that it works: that the doors open, that the drawers clear the radiator, that enough walkway is left.

Remotely, your photos and measurements are enough. If you want more, I come and measure, then build a 3D model of the room with realistic renders.
